Celine Wu

My name is Celine Wu, and I was raised in a small rural town in China. I’ve faced many difficulties in the new environment as an immigrant. I am a full -time student, motivated by my passion for learning and succeeding as I strive to become an outstanding, and successful woman in today’s society.

I consider mathematics as a very important tool in life, and I am currently majoring in Statistics at the math department at the University of Maryland. My academic pursuits are in Statistics, and I will graduate in 2022 with a bachelor's degree.

As long as I’ve known what I wanted to do with my life. Numbers have always been a passion of mine. Throughout high school and college thus far I have taken a rigorous curriculum and maintained a 3.0 grade point average in mathematics. During high school I was involved in a mathematics shadowing program. I volunteered as a math tutor in my high school years. In addition, I’ve had an internship in BIBIS institution, and worked as a mathematical assistant. I enjoyed sharing Math with others.

I am grateful to find opportunities like the one that your foundation is providing to students like me who are constantly fighting for the right to receive an education. I remain persistent and will keep working hard until I reach my career goals and contribute in various fields as needed.
