Ashley Sawyer Charlotte

2022 - 2023 Scholar

Ashley is a Jamaican immigrant with two associate’s degrees in Chemistry and Environmental Science. She loves exploring and never limits herself to learning something new. She believes there is knowledge to be gained from every experience and this has led her to participate in several church and college volunteering programs. She loves helping others and was a peer mentor for first-year and transfer students at her previous college. She also worked in a nursing home as a CNA. Those experiences have been a stepping stone in her pursuit of becoming a dermatologist and cosmetic formulator. She is currently a student member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and Phi Kappa Theta Honor Society. She is a junior at the University of Maryland, College Park completing her B.S in Chemistry. She hopes to become more involved in her school life to make even more fun memories and learning experiences
