Anoushka Shahni

2023-2024 Scholar

Anoushka Shahni’s experience at Maryland has been nothing short of amazing. Since she has been here, her love and passion for computer science has soared. She was also able to discover her love for Mathematics under inspiring professors and mentors. The university gave her opportunities to do what she loves and excel in those fields. Anoushka has been a math coach, and was offered the position of head coach. She’s also a TA for a CMSC330, and has been Head TA for the past 2 semesters. Furthermore, as a woman of color in CS, Maryland has helped her find a home in a field that is so male dominated. Anoushka has been a recipient of the GHC scholarship twice, where she was offered an internship at Goldman Sachs, as well as the Richard Tapia Conference. She has been a part of hackathons like Technica, Bitcamp, successfully completing research projects under PhD mentors. She’s also been a part of organizations like BreakthroughTech,  AWC, etc. The University has also given her many opportunities and resources to conduct research with professors who are experts in the field.
