Andrew Glipin

Andrew Gilpin enlisted into the Air Force in 2011 and served 10 years in Security Forces serving most of his career overseas in Italy, Korea, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates. With experience gained as a Base Defense Controller, Assistant Flight Chief and NCOIC of Investigations & Intelligence, Andrew is reshaping his career and future at Maryland by focusing on education and research in Physics and Astrophysics. Since enrolling at UMD, Andrew immediately got involved in quantum research and dark matter detection, projects at the Quantum Technology Center and plans to continue this research for the majority of his time at the university.
