Andrew Gilpin

Andrew is a 10-year active duty Air Force veteran who continues to serve in the New York Air National Guard.  While in active duty, he held the positions of Response Force Leader, Base Defense Operations Controller, and the Noncommissioned Officer In Charge of Investigations & Intelligence. Now in the National Guard, Andrew holds the role of a Space Systems Operator supporting the National Reconnaissance Office. Since coming to UMD, Andrew has been involved with physics research at the Quantum Technology Center focusing on NV diamond sensors and their viability in directional detection of Dark Matter particles.
