Chafitz Family Endowed Scholarship
About The Chafitz Family
Drs. Evan and Jill Chafitz are great Terp parents, with son Tyler graduating in 2017 - and their daughter Alison graduating in 2020. As medical professionals, Evan and Jill understand the financial strain on enrolled undergraduate students with unmet financial need, especially those who wish to attend medical or dental school upon graduating from Maryland. As a family the Chafitzes have decided to support our students by creating the Chafitz Family Endowed Scholarship, to help undergraduate students with unmet financial need, thereby leaving a long-term legacy gift that will benefit generations of Terps to come.
About The Fund
The Chafitz family Scholarship will provide need-based scholarships for undergraduate students who have completed at least 24 credit hours. Preference will go to current students in the Pre-Health programs, including Pre-Dental students that are in good academic standing. Additional preference will be given to students that may be unable to continue in their education due to extenuating financial circumstances.
