Gratitude and Kindness Meditation Walk

Friday, April 20, 2018 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

From noon to 1 p.m., walk the meditative labyrinth with Edie Anderson of the Health Center. Explore how an attitude of gratitude and kindness can transform your day. Following the walk, enjoy a complimentary lunch and conversation. In case of inclement weather, the program will take place in the Garden Chapel. Reservations preferred; reserve at chapel@umd.edu.

Interfaith Remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wednesday, April 4, 2018 - 12:30pm to 1:15pm

Join us in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. through words, music, and reflection. Following the service, walk the outdoor labyrinth to meditate on Dr. King's work and legacy. The labyrinth will be staffed until 5 pm. This event is sponsored by the Memorial Chapel, the African American Studies Department, the Lutheran Campus Ministry, United Campus Ministry, Hindu Chaplaincy, Catholic Student Center, and Baptist Campus Ministry.

Wind Down Wednesday

Close out the month of January on a relaxing, reflective note. Drop by the Garden Chapel where a recent UMD alum will perform classical to contemporary selections. Enjoy lunch on us and spend time in quiet conversation with a friend or writing in journals. Hearty souls are invited to walk the meditative Garden Labyrinth.

Treat yourself to a meditative labyrinth walk by candlelight, then come indoors for a cup of hot cider and cookies. From 5:00 to 5:15  pm each evening, join in an interfaith lighting ceremony.
