This program invites high school students from the area to campus to have an open and honest discussion about what it means to be a young Black person and why they should love themselves, fostering love and self-acceptance. Discussion will also include a component on typism and how it relates to the different types of hair in the Black community. Through open dialogue about various insecurities surrounding what it means to be beautiful, this event aims to dispel those myths. All in the UMD community are welcomed.
