Art & Learning Center: Salsa^2

Salsa^2 (Salsa Squared) is free workshop, a part of the ALC's Wednesday Workshop Series! Join us on March 9th from 6:00-8:00PM in the Atrium in Stamp for this fantastic dual event. The workshop combines Salsa Dance lessons with demonstrations of how to make various kinds of salsa dips. We will have an ongoing Salsa Dance lesson and free-dance happening in one area of the room while there are demonstrations for delicious and easy salsa dip recipes from Dining Services chefs happening in another area. Recipe cards will be provided to attendees, and participants can float freely between the dance floor and the cooking demonstrations, with tasty snacks of the freshly made salsa available for refreshment.

Alternative Breaks Meet and Greet

Be a part of the Alternative Breaks movement and do something different for break! Alternative Breaks are year-long team experiences that dive in to social issues and communities across the world. Alternative Breaks culminate with service-learning immersion trips during winter, spring and summer breaks. Participants travel both locally and internationally to engage in active service, learn about social issues, and build upon community assets all while making lasting memories and great friends.

To learn more about this year's 27 AB experiences, drop by the AB Meet and Greet on September 21st, 6:00-8:00PM in the Stamp Atrium, STAMP Student Union.

Becoming a Great Leader

The Becoming a Great Leader program is a day-long leadership institute centered on the practical applications of leadership.  We will draw out your most effective behaviors and discuss action steps for how to apply your strengths in a variety of different contexts.  There is no cost to participate.  All meals and materials are provided for the day.

The Real Real World Career Series: Diversity + Me

Come learn the basics of how to create a more inclusive environment at work. Hear from diversity expert Pamela Allen on how to deal with common issues that may pop up in the workplace. While you're at it, you'll get to know about the many diversity related resources available at your disposal. Everyone is welcome! There will be food.

The Real Real World Career Series is designed to prepare current students and young alumni for the realities of it's like to be a professional in the real world outside of the day-to-day job and to provide advice on how to successfully navigate the basics of being a top-notch young professional. VOICES of Social Change: Judy Shepard

Judy Shepard is an anti-hate crimes activist that has spent the past 17 years advocating and lobbying for the advancement of equal civil rights for gay, lesbian, and transgender communities, hate crimes legislation at the State and Federal level, and raising awareness using programs developed to advance this just cause.
