SEE's first lecture of the year will feature former "The Daily Show" correspondent Jessica Williams! And it's FREE! The actress and comedian will give a lecture in the Colony Ballroom located in The Stamp (Adele H. Stamp Student Union) on Thursday, October 13! Jessica Williams's performance will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. She will be speaking on race, gender, and politics and will answer audience questions at the conclusion of the event! Don't miss it! This event is free and open to UMD students only. You must bring your UMD ID in order to attend the event.

The fair allows for participants to engage with landlords/property managers, campus and community resources, as well as meet other off-campus students and potential roommates. It is the place to get all of your off-campus living questions answered!

#ITooAmMaryland: Responses to Racial Microaggressions

Monday, October 20, 2014 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Rise Above "isms" week will kick off Monday, October 20th at 4:00pm in the Colony Ballroom with #ITooAmMaryland: Responses to racial microaggressions. This event will feature round table discussions led by trained facilitators about the impact of microaggressions on the everyday lives of Maryland's students of color. Participants will be invited not only to share their own experiences with and responses to racial microaggressions, but also to brainstorm recommendations for future campus actions to address this issue.
