UMD Celebrates Pride Month
This April, UMD celebrates Pride Month 2018 by recognizing the diversity and achievements of our LGBTQ+ community. Campus departments and offices will be hosting a wide range of events to open dialogue about the LGBTQ+ community’s involvement in politics, economics, art, business, and more!
Events include Speak Your Truth: The LGBTQ Oral History Project Pt. I on Thursday, April 12th from 3:00-6:00pm in the LGBT Equity Center (2218, Marie Mount Hall). The University Special Collections & University Archives, in collaboration with the LGBT Equity Center, will be there to conduct short interviews and gather stories that share and reflect on the LGBTQ+ experience on campus, which will be preserved and added to the University Archives! If you would like to share your story, please RSVP at go.umd.edu/queertruth
The Out & Greek Panel will take place on Thursday, April 19th from 7:00-8:30pm in Tawes Hall, Room 0310. Join LGBTQ+ members of the Greek community for this riveting panel discussion. This panel will be sharing their experiences with fraternity and sorority life at UMD and promoting the Greek community as allies.
On Friday, April 27th, #TransTerps Learning Community Presents: Dr. Chloe Schwenke on Trans Identity in International Life will be held from 1:00-2:00pm in the Edward St. John Learning & Teaching Center, Room 1309.
