November 2 Message

Next week marks a weeklong celebration of our Terp Vets and their families for their service to our communities and our country. We hope you take a moment to honor and remember them.

Dear Terp,

I am thankful for our Terp Vets for their service to our country and community. If you’re able, please join me in honoring and remembering our Veterans at the annual Veterans Day Service at Memorial Chapel, next Friday, November 11 at noon. Thank you for your service, Terp Vets.

Our Veterans have served to protect our liberties — and one of them is the right to vote! So get out there and vote, Terps! It is an important responsibility to vote and make your voice heard! You can and will make a difference.

With gratitude and hope,

Dr. Patty Perillo
Vice President for Student Affairs

In this week’s edition of Keep Connected: Honor & Remember our Terp Vets at the Veterans Day Service on November 11, make your plan to VOTE, and don’t forget to schedule your flu shot!

Honor & Remember: Friday, Nov. 11 Veterans Day Service

Each Veterans Day, the university community gathers to honor and celebrate the contributions of Maryland Veterans. This commemoration has gained momentum as part of the University of Maryland’s Veterans Initiative to raise the level of opportunities for Veterans on campus. In November 2008, the Memorial Chapel was proud to contribute to the inaugural Veterans Week which presented a series of programs for and about veterans. Since then, this treasured event has become a tradition. Last year’s 11/11/21 service can be viewed here.
