April 27 Message

As the spring semester winds down, Dr. Patty Perillo, Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of Maryland invites all Terps to take a break from their studies, get outside with friends, unwind, de-stress, and have some fun.

Hey, Terps,

I know that you're studying hard. I also know it's good to take a break. And one of the best ways to de-stress and unwind is to get outside, have fun with your friends, and build social connections.

So, I am inviting you to Maryland Day 2022 — one of the best traditions our Terrapin community has to offer. It's this Saturday, April 30, throughout our campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Go to McKeldin Mall. It's where the Terp Town Center is. There's lots of entertainment, free food, and you're going to learn a lot.

Or, you could go to Ag Day Avenue. You get a free plant, or pet a farm animal. Now that's fun! Or check out the Art and Design Place at The Clarice. You can dance, or act, or build a masterpiece. Or perhaps you prefer Science and Tech Way — where you will find an Insect Petting Zoo.

Or perhaps you prefer Sports and Rec Row — where there's obstacle courses, and climbing walls, or play sand volleyball on LaPlata Beach. You could also go to our Red-and-White scrimmage to watch our football team play at 12 p.m. (noon) on Saturday.

There's lots of free stuff. Lots of free food. So much to learn and do. Outside, with friends. I hope to see you on Saturday! You deserve some time with friends, and get outside on our beautiful campus. Learn more at marylandday.umd.edu.

Go Terps!
